Manawatu Golf Club claims the title of the oldest golf course in New Zealand and has a proud history of hosting New Zealand’s top Professional and Amateur events including the 2017 and 2018 NZPGA Championships, 5 NZ Open Championships, 8 NZ Amateur Championships and various other national championships.
The Club currently has a vacancy for a Trainee Greenkeeper, to join their current golf course staff to assist in the maintenance of the golf course in accordance with the golf course operational plan.
The Trainee will be required to undertake and complete an approved training program that delivers the appropriate qualifications as agreed with the Course Superintendent and complete assessments and attend training courses / seminars as required.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• General greens keeping and golf course maintenance duties.
• Safe and efficient operations of all mowing and renovation equipment.
• Setting up the course for daily play
• Bunker maintenance.
• General team and housekeeping duties as rostered.
The position requires work on a rostered basis for a minimum of 40 hours per week and additional hours as required. Some weekend work is involved and the successful applicant must be available to work Saturday and Sunday shifts as required.
