Sancta Maria College – Synthetic Turf Development
Project: Sancta Maria College – Synthetic Turf Development
Client: Sancta Maria College
Construction & Development
The objective of Sancta Maria College’s synthetic turf development programme was to provide sporting facilities for their pupils without compromising the quality of the surface.
This contract was for for the installation of two synthetic turf pitches at Sancta Maria College in Botany. The two pitches were built one after another and were designed to suit the needs of the College (70 x 36) and the Junior School (36 x 36). The scope of works included consent application, drainage design, base design, synthetic turf layout design, fencing design and project management of the physical works. The construction timeline meant that these projects were undertaken over the winter period and the fields were available for the start of the school year. Site investigation identified a drainage solution that combined some new drainage with use of the overland flow of the site. This provided a quality outcome at lower than normal cost.
