Sports Surfaces Best Use Planning

Numerous schools and local authorities throughout New Zealand, Australia and Asia are under pressure to cater for their sport and recreational demand and want to know the options available to improve or intensify the usage of available recreational space. NZSTI is well placed to provide independent advice on sports surface development planning to meet the current and anticipated future needs, taking into account both natural and synthetic options (including third generation synthetic surfaces suitable for rugby and soccer)  NZSTI services may range from assistance with selected components of the planning process, to formulation of a comprehensive development strategy encompassing:
  • Auditing of existing facilities to measure agronomic limitations and factors that impact directly on playability and usage capacity, and to establish the potential for improved capacity through maintenance and/or development strategies.
  • Identification of development options and cost-benefit analysis of utilising natural and/or synthetic surfaces, including planning for new facilities.
