Maintenance Consultancy
NZSTI provides consultancy on all aspects of natural and synthetic turf establishment and maintenance, including diagnostic services (e.g. soil fertility testing and fertiliser recommendations; pest and disease identification; assessment factors limiting the performance of a sports or other turf profile). Lack of an appropriate maintenance programme significantly reduces the life of the surface and/or necessitates costly renovation or rebuilding. NZSTI will formulate a comprehensive maintenance strategy designed to maximise turf performance and return on investment. In addition NZSTI offers intensive post-construction maintenance consultancy designed to ensure successful long term performance of sports facilities. Post-construction maintenance services can be tailored to client requirements and may include:
For natural turf:
- Assisting in selecting a contractor to maintain the facility, or help in selecting employees (groundsmen/curators).
- Preparing a pre-tender estimate maintenance budget.
- Preparing a list of machinery required to maintain the facility with indicative prices and options.
- Preparing written maintenance requirements including: mowing regime, pesticide applications, fertiliser applications, watering, renovation.
- Training of maintenance staff, including budgeting, machinery management programmes and turf management programmes.
- Providing regular site inspections for a period after construction to evaluate maintenance requirements for the turf facility and on-going training of maintenance staff.
- Preparing of a regular report to client on site issues.
- Soil testing, interpretation and fertiliser program.
For synthetic turf:
- Providing a detailed maintenance schedule and requirements for turf installations.
- Conducting training courses for maintenance supervisors.
- Conducting periodic inspections, surface evaluation and testing of turf installations, followed on by reporting on on-going maintenance requirements.
- Providing expert advice to assist in extending the life of a synthetic surface.
