NZSTI provides a full construction consultancy and project management service for natural and synthetic turf installation. This may include any or all of the following:

Feasibility Studies
NZSTI will add most value when involved in the early stages of project evaluation and planning. Through its expertise, NZSTI is able to compare natural and synthetic turf options and advise on the relative merits and cost vs. benefits for the different natural and synthetic construction mechanisms available. NZSTI will prepare a comprehensive report outlining the options, their relative advantages and disadvantages, maintenance requirements and estimated costs.
Feasibility studies may also include evaluation of the suitability of a site for the proposed development and requirements for compliance with relevant environmental or legislative requirements and resource consents. 

Project Management – including Construction Specifications and Tender Documents
NZSTI provides a full project management service including detailed construction specifications and drawings for competitive tendering purposes to ensure that appropriate standards are met. As part of the full project management service, NZSTI will supervise the work in progress and administer the contract as required.

NZSTI will also fully manage the tendering process and make recommendations on selection of tenders, in consultation with the client. Specifications may include:

• Preparation of drawings.
• Performance criteria for the base, such that at the time of handover the base offers the necessary stability, grade and levelness.
• Field drainage system.q Irrigation system, including assessment of irrigation water supply and water quality.
• Materials selection, mixing and handling.
• Construction standards, tolerances and guidelines.

For a natural turf field NZSTI will also address:

• Specific soil profile features.
• Root zone and amendments.
• Turf type.
• Turf establishment method.
• Irrigation system.
• Finished standards to be achieved.
• Maintenance programme until handover.

For synthetic turf NZSTI will consult on:

• Selection of the most suitable product considering the end use requirements.
• Base construction, including drainage.
• Maintenance requirements over life of surface.
• Full accredited testing of the completed surface.
